Longan (literally means “Dragon eye”) tree

Also known as mata kuching in Malaysia as the fruit resembles the eyes of a cat. Grow in big bunches of round brown fruit that have a firm, brittle skin with a thick, translucent, sweet,crunchy and juicy flesh and a black stone. Eaten like any fruit and can be incorporated into ice creams, sorbets, drinks, desserts, curries and stir-fries.
