Turmeric leave plant

Planted this in my garden using few knobs of fresh turmeric. The turmeric is a slender, thumb size tuber from the same family as ginger and galangal but with a more subtle taste. The leaves have a strong aniseed flavour, finely shredded and used in Malaysian/Nonya/Indonesian salads and curries. This is used in the beef rendang that gives this dish the unique & aromatic flavour.
