Garlic chive flowers (gau choy fa)

Garlic chive flowers come from the flat stemmed garlic chives plant that are used commonly in the Malaysian noodle dish, char kueh teow . Both have a strong garlic taste and aroma. Flowering chives are sold by the bunch. Discard about 4cm of the bottom stems as they are tough and fibrous. Beautiful texture and taste in any stir-fries, avoid over cooking.
